詩篇第五巻 120篇
“Lord, Fill Us With Your Truth!”
詩篇120篇は、120篇から134篇までの15の詩篇のうち、「都上りの歌」と呼ばれる詩篇の最初のものです。英語の"Ascents "という言葉は、「高いところへの旅 」という意味です。
非常に短い詩編ですが、基本的には4つの部分に分けることができます。1節では、過去にヤハウェがどのように祈りに答えてくださったかを回想しています。2節は、敵の偽りからの救いを求める祈りです。3節と4節は、嘘と欺きに満ちた敵に対して、ヤハウェに代わって詩篇の作者が勇敢に挑戦しています。 最後に、5節と6節は、自分を取り囲む暴力的な人々に対する詩人の嘆きが反映されています。
メシェクとケダルの正確な位置は不明ですが、この詩篇の文脈から、彼らが平和を嫌う戦争好きな人々であることが分かります。詩篇の作者はこのような平和を嫌う民に囲まれていたのです。その中で、最終節において詩篇作者が切望しているのはシャロームです。
時事問題に詳しい方なら、詩篇120篇は今日にも通じるものがあると分かると思います。あなたは気づいていないかもしれませんが、今日、キリスト教は常に攻撃を受けています。クリスチャンは、常に嘘と欺瞞を広める多くの敵に囲まれています。ニュース、テレビ、インターネット、ビデオストリーミングサービスの内容をよく見てみると、どれも反キリスト教的な世界の見方を助長していることに気がつくでしょう。
世界が「良い」と呼ぶもののほとんどは、聖書の教えとは真逆の方向に進んでいます。世間では、誰もが「自分自身の真理」を持つことができると教えています。しかし、どうしてそうなるのでしょうか？ 二つの正反対のことが同時に真理になり得るのでしょうか。多くの人がいろいろな意見を持っていても、真理は一つしかないのです。
イエスはこう宣言されました。「わたしが道であり、真理であり、いのちなのです。わたしを通してでなければ、だれも父のみもとに行くことはできません。」（ヨハネ14：6 新改訳2017）
イエスの言葉を応用する方法の一つは、こうです。多くの意見があっても、真理は一つであり、それは神の真理です。神の真理は、神の生きた御言葉によって明らかにされます。神の生きた御言葉は、聖書に記されています。聖書の専門家であるサタンは、自分の歪んだ方法で物事を見るように、クリスチャンを説得しようと懸命に働いています。
残念ながら、多くのクリスチャンと教会は、悪魔の嘘と欺きに陥っています。悪魔の攻撃に対抗できるのは、神の御言葉を通して啓示された神の真理だけです。私たちは、悪魔の攻撃に対抗するために、毎日、神の御言葉を読まなければなりません。なぜなら、私たちの多くは、この世の誤った真理や道徳に慣れきってしまっているからです。私たちの多くは、神の御言葉を選択的に読み、自分が同意できない部分を無視したりします。
私たちは、悪魔の攻撃から身を守るだけでなく、神の御言葉のすべてを用いて、悪魔を真っ向から攻めなければなりません。エペソ6章17節には、「御霊の剣」である神の御言葉が攻撃的な武器であることを明らかにしています。私たちはこれを用いて、自分の心の戦場でサタンを撃退しなければなりません。つまり、聖書に書かれていることに同意できないとき、心を入れ替える必要があるのは私たち自身なのです。神の御言葉は永遠です。何千年も前に間違っていたことは、今日でも間違っています。神の真理は変わりません。
天の父なる神さま、今日の御言葉をありがとうございます。そうです、私たちは敵の嘘に囲まれているのです。フェイクニュースや反キリスト教的なメディアに囲まれ、分断された国に住む私たちは哀れです。父なる神さま、あなたの生きた御言葉を通してあなたの真理を見せてくださることを感謝します。また、私たちが陥っている悪魔の嘘から解放してくださるようお願いします。主よ、あなたの真理が私たちの目、耳、心、そしてハートを開かせてください。悪魔の嘘ではなく、あなたの真理が私たちを完全に満たしてくれるように祈ります。お父さま、ありがとうございます。私たちはあなたを愛しています。In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
Psalm 120 is the first of 15 Psalms, 120 – 134, that are referred to as Psalms of Ascents. The term “ascents” literally means “A journey to a higher place.” Although very short, Psalm 120 can basically be divided into 4 parts. In verse 1, the Psalmist remembers how Yahweh answered prayers in the past. Verse two is a prayer for deliverance from the lies of the Psalmist enemies. Verses 3 and 4 is the Psalmist’s brave challenge toward his lying deceitful enemies on Yahweh’s behalf. Finally, verses 5 and 6 reflects the Psalmist’s lament over the violent people that surround him. Although the exact locations of Meshech and Kedar may not be known, the context of this Psalm reveals that they are warlike people who hate peace. The Psalmist was surrounded by these peace-hating peoples. What the psalmist yearns for in the final verse is shalom.
Those who are aware of current events my find Psalm 120 very relevant today. Although you may not realize it, Christianity is under constant attack today. Christians are surrounded by many enemies that constantly spread lies and deception. If you pay close attention to the content on most news, television, internet, and video streaming services, you will notice that they all promote a way of looking at the world that is very anti-Christian. Most of what the world calls “good” goes in the direct opposite of what the Bible teaches. The world teaches that everyone can have their “own truth.” But how can this be? Can two opposite things be true at the same time? Although many people can have many different opinions, there can only be one truth. Jesus declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
One way to apply Jesus’ words is this: Although there are many opinions, there can only be one truth, and that is God’s truth. God’s truth is revealed through God’s living Word. God’s living Word is recorded in the Bible. Satan, an expert in the Bible, is hard at work trying to convince Christians to see things in his distorted way. Unfortunately, many Christians and Churches have fallen to the devil’s lies and deceit. Only God’s truth, revealed through God’s Word can counter the devil’s attacks. We must read God’s word daily to counter the attacks of devil. This is not easy because because many of us have become too accustomed to the false truth and morals of this world. Many of us selectively read God’s Word and disregard or ignore parts that we do not agree with. We must not only defend ourselves against the devil’s attacks, but attack him straight on by using all, ALL, of God’s Word. Ephesians 6:17 reveals that God’s Word, the “sword of the Spirit,” is an offensive weapon. We must use this to fight off Satan in the battleground of our minds. This means that when we do not agree with what the Bible says, it is us that needs to change our minds. God’s Word is eternal. What was wrong many thousands of years ago is still wrong today. God’s truth does not change.
Thank you, heavenly Father, for todays Word. Yes, we are surrounded by the lies of the enemy. Woe to me, that I am surrounded by fake news, anti-Christian media, and dwell in a divided nation. Thank You Father for showing us Your truth through Your living Word. We also ask that you free us from any lies from the devil that we have fallen to. Let Your truth open up our eyes, ears, mind, and heart Lord. We pray that your truth, and not the devil’s lies, fill us up completely Lord. Thank you Father. We love You! In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
